Decorative lava lamp with good workmanship. The lava is composed of wax in a solid state that through the heat of the bulb becomes liquid wax and makes the bubbles characteristic in movement. The gentle flow of the randomly formed wax droplets suggests a lava stream. Englishman Edward Craven-Walker created the first model of the lava lamp in 1963. It was originally nicknamed the "Astrolight" or the "Astro Lamp" and was presented at a exhibition fair in Hamburg in 1965, where businessman Adolph Wertheimer showed his interest in the gadget. Wertheimer and his business partner Hy Spector bought the American rights to the product and began producing it as the "Lava Lite" through a corporation called "Haggerty Enterprises" and trading under the name "Lava World International".
